My father's pilot's license approx. 1918-1933 Long Beach

My father flew sometime between 1918-1933 out of Long Beach, CA. I am writing a biography of him; he is deceased, and am looking for confirmation & copy/s of his license/s. I would also like to know more about his airplane (of which I have a photo), and if he flew for U.S. (or F.B.I.) with Charles Lindbergh during those years. I also would like to know where he learned to fly, by whom, and when.
How could I be able to obtain this information? Thanks.
