For N-Atlantic transiting aircraft, Reykjavik (BIRK) is a marvellous stop, specially if one is going to overnight. The airport is in the down town Reykjavik area and close to Hotels, guesthouses, resturants and major events in this western most capital of Europe. It's wiseable to ring or fax ahead to book hotac as the city is often outbooked late week. Landing fees are charged, customs fee and modest handling fee for one of the most excellent service one can expect. The Flight Services hospitality is well known in the aviation world and over and over again acknowledgements and prices are awarded for service. It's amazing actually if one compares the small operation (one man operation most of the time) to larger FBO's. Flight Services phone number is: (354)-552-1611 fax:(354)-552-9221 AFTN: BIRKXHAX and SITA: REKCCYA - E-mail: fltser@falcon.is
